I am about to talk about the keto(genic) diet- because I just started it, eager to knock off a few pounds. Even with all the biking, boxing and walking(with the dog) that I do, my love for food, much of which isn’t too healthy for me has played a huge part in me gaining about 30 pounds since, say, Christmas.
This diet is a low-carb, high fat diet that forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.
Not surprisingly, it wasn’t me who initiated the need for me to lose some weight. No, after watching me deal for a while with my seemingly worsening sensitive arthritic conditions in my legs, Ann suggested to me that it would be a good idea to lose some weight so that my condition doesn’t become too painful anytime soon.
Though I just mentioned above how I love to eat, I think the hardest part for me has been to stop drinking all the regular soda that I drink. Like some people look forward to smoking to ease their worries or, maybe, calm them down, I look forward to getting my daily fix of caffeine to ease my worries or just help my myself feel better overall.
If anyone reading this has heard of or even tried out this diet before, I’d love to get some recommendations or tips on how to move my self into, I guess, the proper train of thought and action so that I can successfully lose some weight. I’ve never seriously tried any kind of diet so, other than working on eating eating a bit less at times in the past, I have never tried laying out a serious game plan on dieting until now.
Some of you can probably relate to me regarding your general attitudes towards dieting because, lets face it, eating sure can be a blast! Even so, I know that I’m getting older and, whether I choose to believe it or not, my body is more likely to react in a negative way or worse if I don’t try and lose some weight. Therefore, I’m going to take this seriously and do my best to lose some weight. And, like I said, if anyone is familiar with this diet and has any tips for me on how to best succeed or stick to this diet, I’d love to see what you have to say.

Hey Dan,
I feel your pain. I just started weight watchers again.
I don’t know much about the Keto diet, but I have to record everything I eat for weight watchers. Maybe If you can do that, it may help you to , at least, keep track and see what you’re eating.
Good luck Dude!
See you on Saturday ❤️
